My son passed his Foundation Exam!

After a brief period of study, my son David sat and passed the Foundation Exam at Colchester Radio Amateurs yesterday.  He’s not shown any real interest in radio in the past but about three months ago I bought the Foundation Now! book and passed it to him to see if anything sparked.  It did and after just two evenings at the Colchester Club course he passed the exam.

Of course, there was a lot of work done at home, largely reading the book and doing sample exams at the Hamtests website and I’m pleased to report that he, along with the other seven people who were doing the course managed to pass.  The exam had been postponed for a week due to the weather conditions which allowed an extra week of study.

So congratulations to David who already has a callsign in mind and as soon as the Ofcom site is updated, he’ll be applying for his ticket.  As my brother would say: “gordelpus” 🙂
