Day #46 saw two QSOs, first I spoke to EA3WD, Vic near Barcelona on 40m and then I moved to 80m and worked DF0AF, Klaus who was operating a special event station commemorating five years of the First Assistance Samaritan Team.
I also had two QSOs on day #47, both on 80m with DF2DD, Carsten and then IZ1PHT, Omar.
Day #48 was the third Thursday in the month so David, M6DHU and I went to the Colchester radio club but before we left, I was tuning around 80m and heard G6NHY who was running a net ask for callers. Because his callsign is so similar to mine I just had to call him and it was a double surprise because his name is also Keith. It turned out that this was the regular Royal Signals net and so I exchanged signal reports with Keith along with M0RRA and G4PJE, John and Ray respectively. Once we returned from the club I had a quick QSO with Slava operating the RL3A club station in Moscow also on 80m.
Well this was a good weekend for me in my quest to have at least 1 QSO per weekend!
I got one from San Remo in Italy on 20 and on 40 a bloke from Poland – though we only got to exchange callsigns as somebody was talking over us and 10w won’t get through that…
