40m WSPR on my new loop aerial

Last night I thought I’d see how well my 40m horizontal delta loop was performing by running some WSPR overnight with just five watts – I can’t go any lower with my radio, the lowest setting is five watts.

After one transmit period this is where I’d been seen.

That’s pretty good.  I left the WSPR running overnight and when I was at work today and here’s the final grab from early evening today.

I think that proves the effectiveness of my new aerial and shows that it’s working very well.  I’m certainly pleased with that result and it’s nice to have been spotted by Joe Taylor, K1JT who is the person behind a lot of these weak signal modes.
