The Martello Tower Group are going to Herm

I suddenly realised that although I’ve been shouting about our upcoming DXpedition to Herm on Twitter and getting publicity in many other places that I’ve not blogged about it here.

Myself and five other members of the Martello Tower Group are going to Herm which is part of the Channel Islands in just three days time.  From October 4th to the 8th we’ll be running two stations from Herm using 80m, 40m, 20m, 15m and 10m SSB and RTTY and our club callsign of GP0PKT.

Herm is part of the Guernsey group of Islands and therefore is covered by IOTA group EU-114.  Our stations will be located in the north east corner of Herm with a WAB square of WV48.  All QSOs will be uploaded to LoTW on our return to the mainland and if we have a good working internet connection while away, I will upload QSOs to ClubLog on a regular basis.  QSL via G6NHU (all QSL details on qrz.com and the DXpedition website).

We have been sponsored by Kenwood, Icom and Hamtests who are lending us a TS-590S, IC-7200 and a selection of Spiderpoles and aerials respectively.

We’re travelling in two parties to Herm, one is taking a carload of equipment to Guernsey and the other group is flying to Guernsey, both groups will hook up there and travel to Herm, leaving the car in Guernsey while we’re on Herm.

For more details, please click here for the DXpedition website and look out for us on the air in just three days time!
