WRTC 2026

In 2026 the World Radiosport Team Championship (WRTC) takes place in the UK. In just over a month, fifty teams of the best contesters in the world will descend on East Anglia and for 24 hours from 12:00z on the 11th July, the airwaves will be buzzing with activity as they all compete against each other to make as many contacts as they can.

This event is only held once every four years and can be compared to the Olympics of amateur radio contesting.

I did volunteer as a driver for WRTC but unfortunately an accident has left me less than fully mobile now and although I was selected, I had to withdraw as the role involves more than just driving.

I’m happy to have donated to the event though and I’ve received the three commemorative coins, bronze, silver and gold as pictured above.
