A QSO per day in 2011

In 2011 I’m going to attempt to have one QSO per day and this blog will document that.

good target. does it have to be hf? there isa danger that quantity will displace quality . id like to do something like one cw qso a week but couldn’t manage one a day 🙁

would echolink count? my phone does echolink apparently!

No, it doesn’t need to be HF and it doesn’t even need to be voice. There will be some days where I work a VHF contest so will do a couple of hundred QSOs in one day and they’ll count perfectly. The idea is just to try and be active on the wireless every day of the year.

I don’t have the ability for any data comms at the moment but hope to have that set up early in 2011 so QSOs in RTTY or PSK31 or any other data modes will be equally as valid.

I generally don’t consider modes that involve passing voice traffic through the internet as real amateur radio so I won’t be including echolink.

Great idea, Keith! I’m all for it. I’ve been trying to do this for about 3 years now. Most of the time, it’s easy with a contact from the mobile in the mornings and evenings, but I occasionally struggle on a busy weekend. I love the idea of making it a blog too!

Good luck and hope to be at least one of your QSOs per day from time to time!
